We have long been treated to flagship devices from various manufacturers sporting a 720p (1280x720) screen. And now, in comes a full HD screen from HTC ! Its 440ppi, Super LCD 3, 1920 x 1080 screen is a new benchmark in smartphone display panels. The HTC J Butterfly, also known as J Butterfly HTL21, is an Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) smartphone; it has been unveiled in Tokyo. Underneath the stunning display, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz. It has an 8mp rear snapper with LED flash, and a 2.1mp front camera for video calls / chat. Being a high-end HTC, it comes with Beats Audio integration. The phone is also supposedly water resistant. Here are the detailed specs:

This phone will be available in Japan in December 2012 (price unknown). But according to the folks at The Verge, HTC representatives have said that its display “will be making its way into other phones around the world.” Sounds yum!
